Lisa Batiashvili returns to the London Symphony Orchestra
26/5/2017
Lisa Batiashvili performs Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.1 with the London Symphony Orchestra at London’s Barbican Centre on 4 June. This performance marks Lisa’s first collaboration with LSO Conductor Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas.
Returning to London for the second time this season, Lisa appeared with Daniele Gatti and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in December (Barbican Centre) as the Orchestra’s Artist-in-Residence. Performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2, Lisa was praised for her “delicate performance” (Financial Times), “poise and focused beauty” with “coruscating brilliance” (The Strad), and her ability to juxtapose “beguiling sweetness of tone” and “impressive transparency” (Bachtrack).
Lisa is also performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Orchestre de chambre de Paris and François Leleux (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées), and will return to London for her 2017 BBC Proms appearance with Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskappelle Berlin performing Sibelius’ Violin Concerto (15 July).
