Sophie Pacini embarks upon a tour of Europe in May, performing solo recitals at Munich’s Prinzregententheater (7 May), Berlin’s Philharmonie(19 May) and Schumann-Haus Bonn (8 June).
Sophie performs music from her first Warner album featuring works by Beethoven Chopin and Liszt. Upon reviewing the album The Pianist Magazine has described her as an “example of a young generation of pianists for whom the word ‘fear’ is not in their vocabulary and who possesses a dazzling technique which is more than a match for the challenges of Liszt’s transcription of the Tannhäuser Overture and Réminiscences de Don Juan” but who has also “an original, musical approach to the works at hand, a good sense of voicing and no crazy idiosyncrasies.”
These recitals follow Sophie’s recent win earlier this month at the International Classical Music Award when she named “Young artist of the year” at Gewandhaus Leipzig. The coming months will see Sophie continue to perform throughout Europe including a trio recital with Chad Hoopes (violin) and Pablo Ferrandez (cello) at Rencontres Musicales d’Evian (7 July) and a solo recital at Wartburg in Eisenach as part of the MDR Musiksommer (22 July).
