This week sees Jörg Widmann present a number of concerts as Madrid’s CNDM’s Artist in Focus.

On 17 April he presents a solo recital of works by Berio, Ruzicka, Stravinsky, Rihm, Winkler and Widmann. He then performs two concerts with the Hagen Quartet on 24 and 25 April. The first concert features the world premiere of Widmann’s new Clarinet Quintet, commissioned by CNDM, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum, Philharmonie Essen, Lugano Musica and Philharmonie de Paris. The second concert sees Widmann perform his own works alongside Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet.
