Pablo Heras-Casado, Principal Guest Conductor of Teatro Real in Madrid, returns to the theatre to lead ten performances of Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer from17 December through 3 January. 

The staging, a co-production with Opéra national de Lyon, Bergen National Opera, Opera Australia and Opéra de Lille, is directed by Àlex Ollé of the acclaimed Spanish theatrical group La fura dels Baus. The cast is led by Evgeny Nikitin and Samuel Youn, alternating in the title role, Ingela Brimberg and Ricarda Merbeth as Senta, and Nikolai Schukoff and Benjamin Bruns as Erik.
