Patrick Hahn signs to HarrisonParrott
18/10/2016
HarrisonParrott welcomes conductor, composer and pianist Patrick Hahn to its roster for worldwide general management.
Having begun his career as a treble soloist, and through his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, the 21-year-old Austrian musician has a natural affinity with the core Central European repertoire. Patrick has also developed a keen interest in contemporary music, cabaret and jazz following his time spent as an exchange student in Minnesota. More recently, Patrick has participated in masterclasses with Kurt Masur and Bernard Haitink, and was a Fellow at the Aspen Conducting Academy last summer. In January 2017 he will return to the Tiroler Festspiele Erl on the invitation of Gustav Kuhn.
Named as “Styrian of the Decade” by Kleine Zeitung in 2014, Patrick continually challenges himself with new musical endeavours. He has conducted the Hungarian State Opera Budapest, Leipziger Symphonieorchester, Hamburger Symphoniker and Israel Chamber Orchestra, and regularly works with numerous choirs and ensembles as music director at home and abroad. His first opera, Die Frittatensuppe, received its premiere in 2008, and in 2013 he was awarded the second prize from 170 submissions worldwide for his composition Ameraustrica at the Penfield Music Commission Project Contest (New York, USA).
