HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome French conductor Maxime Pascal and his orchestra, Le Balcon, to its roster for international management excluding Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Monaco and Switzerland.
With a particular affinity for French and contemporary music, Maxime studied with François-Xavier Roth at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and in 2008 founded the multifaceted and radical orchestra, Le Balcon. Over the years, Maxime and Le Balcon have worked with Pierre Boulez, George Benjamin and Michaël Levinas. Most recently they collaborated with Arthur Lavandier for their debut album – a loose adaptation of Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique (Le Balcon/Alpha).
In addition to his work in Paris, Maxime regularly conducts leading orchestras across Europe including Münchner Philharmoniker, SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg and Orchestre National de Lille. He has also performed at Teatro alla Scala and Malmö Opera, and at festivals such as La Folle Journée, Ars Musica, Berlioz, Salzburg, Saint-Denis, Dialoge and BIFEM.
Forthcoming season highlights include the world premiere of Arthur Lavandier’s new opera with Le Balcon at Opéra de Lille, a reinvitation from Camerata Salzburg, a project at Cité de la Musique in Paris and a tour in Japan with the Ballet of Opéra de Paris followed by a new opera production with them in Paris.
