Peter Eötvös and Audrey Luna embark on European tour of The Sirens Cycle

From 1 October, Peter Eötvös’ new chamber piece for soprano and string quartet, The Sirens Cycle, receives its world premiere at London’s Wigmore Hall followed by a tour throughout Europe. The Calder Quartet and Audrey Luna perform at the Tonhalle, Zürich on 2 October, Centro Nacional de Difusion Musical, Madrid on 3 October, Alte Oper Frankfurt on 5 October, Centre Pompidou, Paris and conclude at the Donaueschinger Musiktage, all of whom are co-commissioners. Soprano Piia Komsi performs in the world premiere in London.
Audrey Luna will return to Europe for semi-staged performances of Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre with both the Berliner Philharmoniker and London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle, before reprising her role as Leticia in Thomas Adès’ new opera The Exterminating Angel at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, following its world premiere at the 2016 Salzburger Festspiele.
Further ahead, Peter Eötvös will be conducting the premiere of the Italian version of his latest opera Senza Sangue in Hamburg.
