Sayaka Shoji embarks on eight-date recital solo tour of Japan

Sayaka Shoji embarks upon a solo recital tour of Japan. The eight-date tour begins on 26 May with a concert in Bifuka, Hokkaido, and includes a recital at Tokyo’s Kioi Hall on 7 June. Sayaka also performs at Kawaguchi Lilia Hall (27 May), Kanagawa Kenritsu Ongakudo (29 May), Kitahiroshima City Arts Hall (31 May), Nagoya Denki Bunka Kaikan (1 June), Hiroshima Aster Plaza (4 June), and Plover Hall in Matsue (5 June).
The tour includes Toshio Hosokawa’s latest work, Exasis for violin (2016), which Sayaka just premiered at her private concert in Sarteano, Siena. Exasis was commissioned by Sayaka with the support of the Japan Music Foundation JESC.
The programmes on tour also include J.S. Bach’s Great Fantasia and Fugue in G minor and Violin Partita No.2 in D minor, and Bartók’s Sonata for Solo Violin.
