Katarina Dalayman sings Kundry
19/2/2016
This week, Swedish soprano Katarina Dalayman sings Kundry in Christof Loy’s production of Parsifal for the Royal Swedish Opera. Conducted by Music Director Lawrence Renes, performances run from 27 February to 28 March.
Well established in the Wagnerian repertoire in roles such as Brünnhilde and Isolde, Katarina Dalayman is now focusing on a new repertoire. This includes her recent debut as Ortrud (Lohengrin) with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, as well as performances as Judith in Bartók’s Duke Bluebeard’s Castle with The Cleveland Orchestra later this season and Foreign Princess (Rusalka) at The Metropolitan Opera next season.
This production of Parsifal is part of Lawrence Renes’s fourth season as Music Director at Royal Swedish Opera, which opened with an acclaimed new production of Der Rosenkavalier, also by Christof Loy. Highlights elsewhere this season include returns to Seattle Opera and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and successful debuts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
