Lisa Batiashvili and Jean-Yves Thibaudet perform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra
1/2/2016
This week both Lisa Batiashvili and Jean-Yves Thibaudet perform separate concerts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
Lisa joins them on 3 February for Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello with Maximilian Hornung, and Jean-Yves then performs Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F on 5 February.
Lisa and Yannick’s close musical collaboration includes recent European tours with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and performances with Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Later this season they appear together with the Berliner Philharmoniker, including at the orchestra’s annual outdoor concert at Berlin’s Waldbühne.
This season Jean-Yves also performs the Gershwin concerto as part of his residencies with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (under Andris Nelsons) and Seattle Symphony Orchestra (under Ludovic Morlot), and with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg. He previously recorded the concerto on Decca with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Marin Alsop.
