On 12 April Gil Shaham returns to the London Symphony Orchestra to perform Britten’s Violin Concerto at the Barbican under the baton of Osmo Vänskä.

The concert, which is broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, is part of the LSO’s International Violin Festival and also features Shostakovich’s Symphony No.6 and Pärt’s Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten.

Shaham’s return to the UK comes shortly after the release of his latest recording – J S Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas — for his record label Canary Classics. The recording was made in summer 2014, as part of Shaham’s residence with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischer Rundfunk.
