Rachel Kelly sings Proserpina in the Royal Opera’s new staging of L’Orfeo at London’s Roundhouse

Continuing in her role as a Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Irish mezzo Rachel Kelly joins the cast of Michael Boyd’s new production of L’Orfeo as Proserpina. Conducted by Christopher Moulds, this new production is presented at London’s Roundhouse and runs from 13 – 24 January.
Having attracted great attention during her first season at the Royal Opera in roles as diverse as Mercédès (Carmen), Mirinda (L’Ormindo), Zaida (Il turco in Italia) and Pisana (I due Foscari), Rachel Kelly’s repertoire also includes Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Béatrice (Béatrice et Bénédict) and Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande).
