This week Rachel Kelly, a current member of the prestigious Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, sings the role of Pisana in Thaddeus Strassberger’s production of I due Foscari at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Conducted by Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano, the production opens on 14 October and marks yet another new role for Rachel after a number of successes with the company last season. These included Mercédès (Carmen), Javotte (Manon), Mirinda (L’Ormindo) and Cat (El gato con botas), the last of which received particular critical acclaim.
Following earlier acclaimed recital appearances at New York’s Carnegie Hall, The Russian Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg and Wexford Opera House, Rachel Kelly makes her Wigmore Hall debut this season as a Samling Scholar.
