Kasper Holten makes his directorial debut at Wiener Staatsoper with a production of Idomeneo. Conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, performances open on 5 October.

This sublime early masterpiece is the latest Mozart opera directed by Holten in recent seasons, including Le nozze di Figaro at Theater an der Wien and Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (to be revived this season).

Continuing his tenure as Director of Opera at Covent Garden, Kasper will direct a new production of Szymanowski’s Król Roger there in May 2015.
