Oliver Knussen opens the Edinburgh International Festival

On 8 August Oliver Knussen conducts the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Edinburgh Festival Chorus In the opening concert of the 2014 Edinburgh International Festival.
The programme for the evening includes Schoenberg’s Five Orchestral Pieces, Scriabin’s Prometheus – The Poem of Fire and Debussy’s Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien.
Joining Knussen at Usher Hall are pianist Kirill Gerstein and singers Claire Booth, Clare McCaldin and Polly May.
Other HarrisonParrott artists appearing at the Festival include Jörg Widmann, Susan Bullock CBE, Erin Wall, Harry Christophers, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Truls Mørk, Anne Sofie von Otter and Krill Karabits on his tour with the I,CULTURE Orchestra.
