Christopher Ventris returns to Opernhaus Zürich to sing the title role of Peter Grimes. David Pountney’s production is conducted by Erik Nielsen and opens on 24 May, with further performances on 27, 29 and 31 May. The production, starring Ventris and Emily Magee (who also features in the current performances) was released on DVD in 2007.

A regular performer with Zurich Opera, Ventris had a recent success there in the role of Luca in Jenůfa.
