Santtu-Matias Rouvali debuts with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin
16/3/2014
Santtu-Matias Rouvali makes his debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin on 19 March, conducting works by Sibelius, Elgar, Copland and Bartók.
The concert, at Berlin’s Philharmonie, features two concertos – Elgar’s Cello Concerto, with soloist Harriet Krijgh, and Copland’s Clarinet Concerto, with Annelien van Wauwe. Bartók’s Dance Suite and Sibelius’ Finlandia complete the programme.
The date follows a number of successful appearances in the US for Rouvali – including an outstanding debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming European engagements include concerts with the Dresdner Philharmonie.
