The Bach Choir makes its debut in China
10/3/2014
The Bach Choir travels to China for its first ever performances in the country.
Collaborating with the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, the Choir gives two concerts conducted by Music Director David Hill – in Shanghai on 10 April and Hangzhou on 12 April.
Recognised the world over as the epitome of the English choral tradition, the Choir gives the world premiere of Sir John Tavener’s O where, tell me where — which was commissioned by The Bach Choir — as well as performances of Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem and choral favourites including Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Parry’s I was Glad and Bach’s motet Lobet den Herrn.
