In July, Canadian Brass returned to Japan for the first time in eight years, making several appearances at the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo before travelling to Tokyo for a concert at the Metropolitan Theatre Concert Hall.

On 25 July, at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara, they performed a programme featuring repertoire from their recent CD, titled Carnaval, whilst on 27 July they took part in the Festival’s Gala Concert. On 28 July, they appeared in an informal picnic concert at Sapporo’s Art Park Outdoor Stage. They also gave a brass masterclass for high school students on 24 July.

In Tokyo, they performed music including repertoire from their Carnavalalbum at the Metropolitan Theatre Concert Hall on 30 July, which was broadcast on NHK TV & Radio.

Later in the year, Canadian Brass tour to South Korea, and will return to Asia in late 2014.
