18/11/2011
The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Claus Peter Flor begin their major tour of China on 2 December with a performance of one of Mahler’s lesser-known symphonic works, his Symphony no. 6, at Beijing’s spectacular National Center for the Performing Arts.
The following night’s proceedings feature Brahms’ Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 9, From The New World by the orchestra’s fellow countryman, Antonin Dvorák. Violinists Akiko Suwanai and Mengla Huang join the orchestra and Flor on tour, both performing the Brahms Concerto.
