15/10/2010
Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Philharmonia Orchestra have finished their tour of Europe, with concerts around the UK in Warwick, Bristol, Swansea and London’s Royal Festival Hall – together with pianist Nikolai Lugansky, who also joined them for a performance in Barcelona’s Palau de la Música. The tour culminated in their three-concert Rachmaninov project in Paris’s Théatre des Champs-Elysées, featuring two pianists; Nikolai Lugansky performed the composer’s Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3, and Andrei Korobeinikov joined for his Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini.
