HarrisonParrott is delighted to have managed the inaugural BBC Proms Japan in 2019, presented and sponsored by Daiwa Securities Group and supported by the Scottish Government. The six day festival was the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra​’s first tour to Japan with performances taking place at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall, Tokyo and The Symphony Hall in Osaka under the baton of Chief Conductor Thomas Dausgaard.

Yulianna Avdeeva featured during the opening of the Festival performing Tchaikovsky’s Concerto for Piano No.1 with Mahler’s Symphony No.5 concluding the programme. The Last Night of the Proms offered traditional and renowned repertoire including Elgar’s ​‘Pomp and Circumstance’ March No.1 with saxophonist Jess Gillam joining the Orchestra for a rendition of Milhaud’s Scaramouche. Japanese soprano Mako Mori, violinist Vadim Repin and composer/​violinist Taro Hakase completed the line-up.
