8/8/2025
Sauli Zinovjev’s Tarpeeton Pyyhitään Yli (“Erasure”) premieres on 14 August with conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste, soprano Helena Juntunen and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra at Helsinki Music Centre. It features in the opening concert of Helsinki Festival and is commissioned by New Music Theatre Project.
Tarpeeton Pyyhitään Yli, a 32 minute work, consists of a prologue and nine songs composed to texts by poet Mirkka Rekola. Zinovjev describes the work as one in which “the external image of nature and the internal conflict intertwine with each other”.
