Ascent, a new work for brass and percussion by Dani Howard, receives its world premiere on 4 January at London’s Barbican Centre. The immersive work is commissioned by National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, which performs it alongside Debussy’s Rondes de Printemps and Strauss’ Alpine Symphony. The concert is also set to be livestreamed on the Barbican’s website. The orchestra then takes the same programme to Nottingham Royal Concert Hall on 5 January and Warwick Arts Centre on 6 January.
