A new work for brass band by Dani Howard entitled Warp & Weft receives its world premiere by Grimethorpe Colliery Band on 18 November at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music (formerly The Sage Gateshead). The five-minute work was commissioned by Grimethorpe Colliery Band, which performs it as part of the Brass in Concert Festival 2023. 

The ensemble is one of the UK’s leading brass bands, frequently appearing on television and film. It has long championed new repertoire for brass, with a history of landmark premieres by composers including Malcolm Arnold and Harrison Birtwistle.
