Lisa Batiashvili performs Brahms’ Violin Concerto with Berliner Philharmoniker at the annual Europakonzert under the baton of Daniel Harding, replacing Daniel Baremboim, in Georgia on 1 May. The concert, which is broadcast internationally, takes place in the amphitheatre in Tsinandali and the programme also includes Schubert’s Rosamunde Overture and Beethoven’s Symphony No.5.

This first visit by the orchestra to Georgia aims to unite the rich classical culture of the country with that of the cultural institutions in Europe as Georgia is considered as a candidate for EU membership. It is poignant for Batiashvili as one of the final concerts in her residency with Berliner Philharmoniker this season.
